According to Optoma, the HD82 model provides 1300 ANSI lumens, a contrast ratio of 20000:1 alongside a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 3000 hours. In terms of image alignment, the model offers an optical lens shift function, allowing the image to be shifted without quality loss. The exact adjustment leeway can be calculated in the Projection Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 1300 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 366 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 244 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. In the specifications, the operating noise is listed at a mere 22 decibels, indicating very quiet cooling. Since entering the market in 2009, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.

Good price/performance Full-HD DLP DC3 projector
Ive had the HD82 for a few days now, but I can already make a few statements about it.
Very sharp image, good blacks despite a very bright image, good contrast, but you need a home theater optimized room, significantly quieter than usual for DLP projectors - even at 60Hz, flexible installation thanks to a larger zoom range and last but not least horiz./vert. lens shift, which could have been a bit larger.
No dithering, no false contour visible, not least due to a new intermediate image calculation.
For the first time, this intermediate image calculation can also be found in a DLP projector, i.e. the image can now be converted from 50/60Hz to 100/120Hz - however, there are still some minor glitches here, you have to be very careful which mode you set this “Pure Motion” calculation to for Blu-rays and DVDs, otherwise youll either get artifacts or judder.
The dynamic iris also needs improvement; you can see image pumping, especially in dark (image) areas, but for me its not that distracting.
The bottom line, in my opinion, is a good Full HD DLP projector with a DC 3 chip, which has some quirks, but these are compensated for by the overall good performance.
Oh yes, RBE is more noticeable due to only one color wheel with only 5x the speed, compared to DLP projectors with 6x color wheel speed.
If you still want to stick with DLP projectors, you should maybe take a look at the HD82.
