Categorized in the Standard-Portabel segment, the DS551 projector from Optoma projects with a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution, alongside 2800 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 5000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 5000 hours before a replacement is necessary – mathematically sufficient for 6.8 years based on two hours of use per day. Looking at practical performance, up to 461 cm can be illuminated with 2800 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 307 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 30 decibels. Since entering the market in 2011, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
