The UHZ55 model from Optoma combines DLP technology in the Homecinema sector with 3000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2500000:1 and a native UHD (4K2K) 3840 x 2160 resolution. With its laser unit, the projector offers a specified light lifespan of 30000 hours, covering an estimated 20.5 years based on a 4-hour daily runtime. To ensure a rectangular image even with asymmetrical placement, the projector includes digital keystone correction for both the horizontal and vertical axes. Regarding projection size, the value of 3000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 556 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 371 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since the projector supports Miracast and Airplay screen mirroring, video signals can also be streamed wirelessly from the end device. Regarding noise emissions, the model proves to be exceptionally quiet during operation, producing just 29 decibels.

After having the UHZ 50 in operation for 2 years and the UHZ 55 is practically identical in construction, it only has a black design which looks more attractive in a dark movie theater if the room is also black
The volume is minimally audible in ECO mode. The setting options are standard Optoma and very extensive. They leave hardly anything to be desired in order to adjust the colors etc. perfectly. HDR 10 playback from the Panasonic DMP-UB 900 via an Onkyo TX-NR 686 with Pixelgen Design HDMI cables reproduces the movie image faithfully on the screen. Razor sharp right to the edge. No convergence shift, thanks to 1 chip DLP. Compared to Sony or JVC, which are blurred towards the edge of the picture, this one is a real dream. The illumination is also perfect right to the edges. In addition to the fact that the other two brands charge horrendous prices, require calibration and have high power consumption and weight, this projector is an all-rounder that can do more than you need and is also a real bargain.
If you set it up correctly and combine it with a contrast screen, you have a very good black level with depth effect and an extreme color spectrum. Even the intermediate image calculation works almost artifact-free at the highest level. Every pixel is recognizable and razor-sharp, even when playing from a PC or X-Box with 4:2:2 12bit. Games with 4K 60fps can be displayed without any problems and are a real treat for the eyes. One advantage over the older UHD51 is that you can also switch on the intermediate image calculation for 3D. 3D is incredibly detailed, clear and definitely a lot of fun. Of course, when used with Hi-Shock DLP Link glasses, which have no ghosting or signal loss and increase the contrast even further.
Although the setup flexibility is extreme with all the correction tools, it is not advisable as you have to accept a loss of quality. It is therefore advisable to level the projector and align it perfectly with the screen. Unless you want to take it everywhere with you, then it is mobile. Although a manual lens shift is available, it can only move the image up or down very slightly. However, the zoom range is decently large so that you can get a decent image width even at short distances.
Comparably there is really hardly a power machine that combines so many features, that needs little power, is very durable due to laser, 3D and has such a colorful, sharp, detailed picture power. The laser light source on my UHZ 50 has been running for over 4000 hours in the last 2 years and there is no flickering or loss of brightness as with lamp-based devices. So you can assume that you will have the same pleasure with the UHZ 55 for a long time.
