Based on DLP technology, the Optoma DS5 XL projects images in a Standard-Portabel environment, with technical specs listing 2800 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 5000:1 and a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 5000 hours before a replacement is necessary, achieving a lifespan of 6.8 years when used for 2 hours a day. Regarding projection size, the value of 2800 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 461 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 307 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. With a value of only 30 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. Since entering the market in 2012, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
