As a projector, the Sony VPL SX630M combines LCD technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 3200 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 3000:1. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 3000 hours. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment; exact values can be calculated using the Projection Calculator. With its short projection distance, the short-throw model excels in smaller rooms, requiring only 54 cm of wall distance for an image width of 2 meters. Regarding projection size, the value of 3200 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 493 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 329 cm. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (16W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. The projector was released in 2014 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
