The VPL HW15 is a LED-SXRD projector by Sony, whose specifications list 1000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 60000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 3000 hours. For precise setup, the device features a lens shift mechanism that allows for optical image shifting. To plan the individual installation location, a look at the Distance Calculator is recommended. A look at the light output reveals: The 1000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 321 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 214 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. With a value of only 22 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. Since entering the market in 2009, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.
I‘ve had the HW-15 for a good 3 years now and was totally impressed by the device, but I‘ve now switched to an HW-40 just because of 3D, but I have to say that the HW-40 isn‘t that much better in 2D, I would have expected a bit more.

The HW-15 has been in operation since yesterday, I previously had the HW-10 (which was already excellent)! The HW-15 is even better in terms of contrast and black level, I wouldn‘t have thought so, the picture is a feast for the eyes ..... I‘m thrilled ..... the exchange has definitely paid off (for me)!!!
