The VPL FHZ60 model is a Laser-LCD projector from Sony, intended for Stationary applications, offering 5000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 10000:1 at WUXGA 1920 x 1200. With its laser unit, the projector offers a specified light lifespan of 20000 hours, covering an estimated 13.7 years based on a 4-hour daily runtime. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction, allowing the projected image to be positioned with immense flexibility. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Distance Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 718 cm can be illuminated with 5000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 479 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content, and also offers the technical capability for 360° projection. Connectivity for fixed installations is rounded off by an RJ45 port for remote maintenance and an HDBaseT interface, which transmits bundled video, audio, and control data over long cable runs. With a value of only 28 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2015 and is officially no longer distributed by Sony.
