Based on LCD technology, the Barco Reality 6500 device delivers 4300 ANSI lumens, a resolution of SXGA 1280 x 1024 and a contrast of 350:1 as a projector. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 1000 hours. An integrated lens shift provides significant leeway for placement. The lens can be adjusted to precisely align the image even with off-center installations. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Projection Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 555 cm can be illuminated with 4300 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 370 cm. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. The projector was released in 2001 and is officially no longer distributed by Barco. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
