The projector FL40-WU by Barco utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 2500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 6000:1 at a resolution of WUXGA 1920 x 1200. The manufacturer specifies a durability of 50000 hours for the LED light source, which translates to 34.2 years with 4 hours of daily use. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Projector Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 2500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 508 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 339 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content as well as 3D. Furthermore, the model supports 360° projections for highly flexible deployment scenarios. A massive advantage for fixed installations is the HDBaseT interface, which transmits video, audio, and control signals losslessly over long cable runs. The projector was released in 2019 and is officially no longer distributed by Barco. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
