As a projector for the Event sector, the Barco SLM G8 Performer is equipped with 8000 ANSI lumens, a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution and a contrast of 500:1. According to Barco, the included lamp lasts up to 500 hours. An integrated lens shift provides significant leeway for placement. The lens can be adjusted to precisely align the image even with off-center installations. The specifications identify the device as a model with an interchangeable lens option. Matching optional optics allow for exact adaptation to the required image size and projection distance, which can be calculated directly with the Lens Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 779 cm can be illuminated with 8000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 519 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Since entering the market in 2003, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
