With the ELM R18 DIRECTOR, Barco offers a DLP projector that features 17500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 450:1 and a resolution of SXGA 1280 x 1024. The manufacturer specifies a runtime of 500 hours for this projector's lamp. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without introducing digital image artifacts. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Projection Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 1120 cm can be illuminated with 17500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 747 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Since entering the market in 2002, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. However, it remains frequently searched within our database. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
