The TW523 model is a 3D-BrilliantColor-DLP projector from Benq, intended for Standard-Portabel applications, offering 3000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 13000:1 at WXGA 1280 x 800. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 4500 hours – mathematically sufficient for 6.2 years based on two hours of use per day. A look at the light output reveals: The 3000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 556 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 371 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content as well as 3D. This model dates back to 2013 and is no longer part of Benq's current product range.

I have now been using this projector for a good 6 months and around 630 hours in our movie theater. The performance is excellent, the 3D display in 1920x1080 resolution is convincing and is not much inferior to our much more expensive Panasonic 3D projector. The BENQ‘s immature temperature control is annoying. After approx. 1.5 hours of operation on the WWW (PC-HDMI) in economy mode, with a predominantly white background, the temperature control system cuts in and switches the projector off without warning. The same happens after 4 hours of BLURAY viewing. The only remedy is to increase the fan speed (fan operating setting) from "normal"(!?) to "high", which ultimately makes the super-quiet projector noisy.
