The projector PT AE100E by Panasonic operates as a LED-LCD device with 700 ANSI lumens, a WVGA 858 x 484 resolution and a contrast of 500:1. According to Panasonic, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. Looking at practical performance, up to 269 cm can be illuminated with 700 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 179 cm. Since entering the market in 2002, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.

Unfortunately no PAL 16/9 TFT panel, 92 vertical pixels are missing
The de-interlacer has no film mode
The lamp life is often quoted as 5000 hours, the projector only switches off after 2000 hours.
Have had the projector for 4 years now and wouldn‘t know what to complain about. Very good picture quality and reliability. Unfortunately, the replacement bulbs are very expensive and now after 5000 hours I‘m told to replace them. But I‘ll wait until it goes out. Maybe it will last 6000 hours. I can definitely recommend the projector.

Uncomplicated, reliable projector
Bought the projector 4 years ago. Had a decent picture (progressive scan) by the standards of the time. Has been running flawlessly ever since (over 1000h).
Still fun to watch movies with, even if current technology
is much more advanced. NTSC resolution not perfect. Black level is O.K., could be
better, sharpness is very good and so are colors.

Not very satisfied
Bought the device 3 years ago. Since this week (after 359 operating hours in economy mode) the lamp is broken. I bought the device because I was told that the lamp can do 6000 hours. I also didn‘t like the picture quality: the resolution was not as expected.
