This projector from Epson utilizes LCD technology, achieving 1600 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 5000:1 at a resolution of HDTV 1280 x 720. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 1700 hours. Both optical image shifting (lens shift) and digital keystone adjustment are included, enabling exact alignment on the screen. Accurate distances are provided by the Distance Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 1600 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 406 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 271 cm. The projector was released in 2006 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson.
I bought this projector for 499€ in the Epson advent promotion last year (2007) and I have to say that I don‘t think there is currently a comparable projector for this price.
HD Ready, lens shift available, picture is sharp and well balanced, there are many connection options...simply everything you would expect from a projector in the 800-1000€ class!
Why don‘t I give it the full 100 points?
1 The menu navigation is really just bad, the terms used are incomprehensible and often confusing. For example: There is no designated Eco mode, cinema black 1 & 2 is the correct setting in the color mode window to shut down the projector.
2. I also have to confirm Gregor‘s statement (23.02.07) that the projector is relatively loud when used in normal mode.
3. The projector is a decent size, by which I mean that it is quite large. But I wouldn‘t see it as a big problem, and you can read the dimensions above.
4. 1080p is not supported, I haven‘t tested it myself but whether 1080p or 1080i is irrelevant with a real resolution of only 1280*720!
In conclusion, I would say that the Epson TW620 projector is a very successful home cinema projector that is less suitable for mobile use. If you are thinking about buying a projector for your home theater and come across an offer around 500€ you should definitely go for it!
Hope the review is helpful.

Good home cinema projector
I‘ve had the projector for two months now and am absolutely satisfied. Very nice colors, good illumination, countless connection options, any detailed settings possible. I can highly recommend this device.
The only small disadvantage is that the fan is too loud for me in non-eco mode. Compared to other projectors, however, it is still whisper quiet. In addition, the ecomode is absolutely sufficient, I rarely use it in standard mode.

Super Allrounder
I‘ve had the EMP-620 for some time now and I‘m very satisfied. I only have sun blinds in my living room, which don‘t darken perfectly and in bright lamp mode you can still watch movies very well. otherwise my projector only runs in economy mode
