With the HIVID 3500, Nec offers a DLP projector that features 3500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 250:1 and a resolution of SVGA 848 x 600. According to Nec, the lamp has a durability of 1500 hours. The specifications identify the device as a model with an interchangeable lens option. Matching optional optics allow for exact adaptation to the required image size and projection distance, which can be calculated directly with the Distance Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 3500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 515 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 343 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. This is a discontinued model that is no longer officially distributed by Nec.
