The basic data of the Epson USA Powerlite 980W includes 3800 ANSI lumens, a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800 as well as a contrast of 15000:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 6000 hours, which amounts to roughly 8.2 years at 2 hours of daily use. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. A look at the light output reveals: The 3800 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 626 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 417 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2017 and is officially no longer distributed by Epson USA.
