Behind the name MP 8747 is a LED-LCD projector by 3M, whose main features include 1600 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 300:1 and a XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. According to 3M, the included lamp lasts up to 1500 hours. Regarding projection size, the value of 1600 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 348 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 232 cm. The projector was released in 2001 and is officially no longer distributed by 3M.
