Categorized in the Short Distance segment, the WD500U ST projector from Mitsubishi projects with a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution, alongside 2100 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 2500:1. According to Mitsubishi, the lamp has a durability of 2000 hours. A special feature is the short-throw lens, which allows the device to be positioned at a very short distance from the screen. According to the data sheet, an image width of 2 meters is achieved from a distance of just 112 cm. Regarding projection size, the value of 2100 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 466 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 311 cm. Since entering the market in 2008, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
