As a projector for the Homecinema sector, the Acer H9505BD is equipped with 3000 ANSI lumens, a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution and a contrast of 10000:1. According to Acer, the lamp has a durability of 3000 hours. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment; exact values can be calculated using the Projector Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 3000 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 556 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 371 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content as well as 3D. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 30 decibels. Since entering the market in 2014, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. However, it remains frequently searched within our database.

My successor to the Benq TH681. The Acer is a lot bigger and, at 7 kg, significantly heavier, but it is of a higher quality and is better equipped. Among other things with
- Lens shift function
- W-Lan adapter (optional)
- replaceable filter in front of the fan, which supplies the projector with air
The latter I consider very important, because due to heavy dust deposits on my previous projector, which had no filter, a fan failed and the lamp exploded after 2800 hours.
Fan noise I find absolutely fine even in standard mode. Picture with very good sharpness and good color reproduction. No rainbow effect for me either. Only the black level could be better. I bought the device at the special offer price of € 799 including 2 Acer 3D shutter glasses and think that there is currently no better projector for use as a home theater for this price.

Acer H 9505 BD
Relatively small device with a decent picture. For volume reasons, it is better to use it in Eco mode, which results in an acceptable fan noise, as it is too loud in standard mode.
In Eco mode, you have to experiment a lot with the picture adjustment to adapt the picture to your needs or picture source. The wide range of controls is superfluous, because adjusting just a few points for more brightness, contrast or color immediately leads to the picture becoming too bright.
Excellent warranty and lamp life performance.
The 3D display is smooth and entertaining, the conversion from 2D to 3D is also nice, as well as in mix mode, where 3D and 2D participants can view the same picture material. For brightness reasons, 3D mode should only be activated in standard mode.
The image is very sharp, no contour flickering, poor source material is immediately visible
In dark movie scenes, the contrast is sometimes lacking in Eco mode.
