The hardware properties of the XV Z200E manufactured by Sharp include 700 ANSI lumens, a WPAL 1024 x 576 resolution and a contrast value of 2000:1. The manufacturer rates the durability of the included lamp at 5000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 6.8 years based on two hours of use per day. For distortion-free image alignment, the projector offers both a lens shift function and keystone correction. The amount of leeway the lens provides can be checked in the Projection Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 700 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 269 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 179 cm. With a value of only 29 decibels, the noise level during operation remains pleasantly in the background. The projector was released in 2003 and is officially no longer distributed by Sharp. Note: According to our information, replacement lamps (original or generic) are no longer available for this projector.

Since we have been very satisfied with the well-functioning Sharp Beamer since June 2003, we are now starting what we hope will be the last attempt at a successful solution to the problem.
Since November 2008, the Sharp Beamer has been switching off automatically after approx. 45 minutes of operation (without warning*) and we have not been able to restart it for some time (even after the power plug has been pulled out according to the manual, then plugged back in and the device restarted etc.; however, no reaction after 15 minutes and not even after 3 days, even after changing the sockets etc.). ); i.e. the projector no longer shows any signs of life and the power lamp no longer lights up red, let alone green.
(*Of course we can‘t rule out the possibility that the temperature lamp might start flashing red, but who looks at the front of the projector in the middle of a movie to see if it‘s flashing?)
After we get the projector back from Sertronics, Spreitenbach, the projector works again for a while and then switches off again after 45 minutes to 70 minutes as usual - and we can‘t reactivate it either.
To make matters worse, the lamp suffers with every interruption as it is still hot. As the power is suddenly lost, the cooling is also lost, so that the capacity of the lamp is severely impaired each time. (after all, since 2003 about 50% is still left, i.e. it should last at least 1-2 years)
For your information: The ventilation openings on the right and left are not blocked (suspension free in the air in open space (4-5m height upwards, i.e. without any blockage). The projector has been hanging there for 5 years without any problems, so this cannot be the problem. The air filter cannot be dirty either, as it was cleaned 2 months ago.
A) What can we do to get the projector to start up again (and the red power lamp to light up again) so that we can restart the machine? (Plugging in and out does not help, see above)
B) What repair do you suggest to solve the problem once and for all? (We are planning to show several slide shows starting in October, and for this we need an absolutely reliable projector that lasts at least 2-3 hours. (just like before).
c) We are in Switzerland, but bought the device in Germany - who else can we turn to apart from Sertronics, Spreitenbach?
