Equipped with DLP technology, the Christie Mirage 4K40-RGB offers 40000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 5000:1 and is designed as a versatile projector. The laser technology ensures a specified light source lifespan of up to 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. The optical system is designed for the use of interchangeable lenses, allowing for a tailor-made configuration for almost any throw ratio. The Distance Calculator is available to calculate the exact dimensions. Looking at practical performance, up to 535 cm can be illuminated with 40000 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 357 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D, meaning standard Blu-ray formats are processed effortlessly. A massive advantage for fixed installations is the HDBaseT interface, which transmits video, audio, and control signals losslessly over long cable runs. The projector was released in 2018 and is officially no longer distributed by Christie.
